The St. Pete Women’s Collective spent Saturday, August 26, at our first official Board Retreat, where we celebrated our progress as a brand new organization, and mapped out our vision for the months to come. We are excited to share some fresh projects with you as we move into the fall!
Meanwhile, here are more highlights from what we’ve been up to since launching in January 2017:
We officially established our nonprofit, and founded a live-work space in the Artist Enclave of Historic Kenwood, housing 6 studios and 3 resident artists. (February)
We hosted 600+ guests (over two nights) at a very special Nasty Women Art Show, exhibiting donated art from more than 40 Bay area artists and raising more than $1,400 for our local Planned Parenthood! (April and May)
Our “Adulting 101: Let’s Talk About Sex!” community conversation series drew crowds at the Iberian Rooster (March) and Black Crow Coffee (June) for evenings of chill, real talk about sex, sexuality and consent.
SPWC hosted and participated in an Alternatives to Violence Project (AVPUSA.org) weekend workshop that taught the basics of nonviolent communication and community building. (June)
Winesmith Fundraiser! SPWC is grateful to Winesmith in downtown St. Pete for sponsoring the Collective as featured charity at their monthly wine tasting. Guests enjoyed fine wines and charcuterie while chatting with the #BossLadiesoftheBurg. (August)
