After submitting an essay about her work with the St. Pete Women's Collective, and as a sexual assault counselor and reproductive rights activist, Ashley received a full scholarship to attend the five-day intensive for emerging feminist leaders.
During this week, she will learn from Sharon Salzberg (a central figure in the field of meditation, world-renowned teacher, and New York Times best-selling author), Mallika Dutt (founder, president, and CEO of global human rights organization Breakthrough, whose mission is to build a world in which violence against women and girls is unacceptable and all people enjoy their full human rights), Carla Goldstein (cofounder of the Omega Women's Leadership Center), and Leslie Salmon Jones (creator of Afro Flow Yoga™), among others.
Omega describes this intensive as a "highly experiential workshop for women who want to use their leadership to create a caring, just, and sustainable future for everybody. Through reflection, dialogue, writing, yoga, meditation, and exploring nature, we delve into our leadership stories, learn from each other, and create a shared understanding of what is needed to bring greater consciousness into the world."
Ashley looks forward to bringing her experiences back to the ‘Burg, and beyond.
