Partnerships and collaborations are essential to our ethos as a creative community! We are excited to announce that the St. Pete Women’s Collective is deepening our relationship with the Bluebird Books Bus, to serve as the official non-profit fiscal sponsor of this innovative bookmobile. This means we will be able to accept donations on behalf of the Bluebird project, and expand our publishing efforts at the same time.
A mobile station of inspiration founded in 2011, the Bluebird Books Bus brings zine making, book exchange, typewriter poetry, paper craft, and locally-made printed works directly into communities on a converted school bus, encouraging visitors to slow down and connect with tangible stories in a way that inspires thoughtfulness, empathy, and creativity.
This socially-focused arts project has appeared at venues and events throughout the Tampa Bay area (also traveling as far as Miami, FL, and Savannah, GA) to promote literacy, expression, and craft.
Bluebird and SPWC have already collaborated on sharing empowering, gender-neutral paper crafts during the Good Moves Caravan, printing and distributing zines about consensual sex, distribution of free Resist! magazines, and more. We look forward to working on future projects and tours together.
You can support these initiatives directly by clicking here and writing “Bluebird Books Bus” in the payment notes. Ten percent of all donations earmarked for Bluebird go directly back to the Collective, providing much-needed funding for supplies and logistics.
See you on the Bus!
