Community Spotlight:  All the Love!

01/03/2018

On January 19, 2018, we celebrate our one-year birthday as a grassroots feminist organization committed to empowerment, community, and creativity! We could not have done all that we did in our inaugural year without the love and support of everyone who showed up and stepped up for the St. Pete Women’s Collective.

We’d like to share deep gratitude to the following community members, whose generosity is the very foundation of who we are:

Black Crow Coffee Co. for hosting Craft Nights, #MeToo events, Adulting 101 series, donating treats to our events, and offering heartfelt support. We’d like to give serious love and gratitude to Mama Crow, Deana, who is a shining light in St. Petersburg and a true ally to all that we stand for.

St. Pete Indie Market for featuring us as the community partner for November’s Indie Market, and Rosey Williams for all of your heartfelt support and collaboration with the upcoming Boss Lady Summit Series!

Green Bench Brewing Co. for spotlighting our organization during November’s Indie Market, and donating proceeds from our special rosé bar. Big ups to Valerie Niager, one hell of a boss lady who's shown us nothing but love since our paths crossed.

The Gobioff Foundation for awarding us a generous grant to enable Bluebird Books Bus to thrive in 2018!

Todd Smith from Winesmith St. Pete for honoring us as nonprofit of the month at your monthly wine tasting for a cause.

Tyler Weiss for being the best example of what a white, cisgender, heterosexual male feminist can be! You lifted things, you brought us things, you fed us, you made us laugh, and you showered us with praise and support at every step along the way.

Our boss boss boss volunteers who showed up and helped with so many events this year! Shout out to Julie Cardamone, Karen Mollard, Daniela Ayala Marquez, Alan Winston Elliott, The Nasty Boys (Matt, Esteban, Micah, and Salad), Cassie Haugli, Betsy Alvarez, and Lila Madden!

“Composting” Christina Bellamy for facilitating an Alternatives to Violence workshop and sharing composting advice.

Lisa Perry for connecting and collaborating with us for A Day Without Women and the Hurricane Maria fundraiser.

Suncoast Center for providing victim advocates to our #MeToo events.

A Woman’s Point of View and Art in Your Ear at WMNF 88.5 FM for featuring us on your shows. (We love you JoEllen!)

Lynn Waddell for believing in us and writing a story about our Nasty Women event for Creative Loafing.

Shannon Wright and Gus Alvarez for co-hosting our “Let’s Talk About Sex” events!

Ashley “Nala” Williams for your creative collaborations and prep for our new Women in Film series launching in 2018.

Joerod Collier for your enthusiasm and vision for our upcoming Big Talk Dinner series.

Angela Page with Love Your Rebellion for inviting us to Babefest 2017.

Datz Donuts, Mother Kombucha, and Misty Stewart for donating delicious treats for our events.

Nomad Art Bus for inviting us to join their Good Moves Caravan during Give Day Tampa Bay, and for sharing wisdom and support this year!

Amy Miller for sponsoring zine printing.

Stacia Schrader at Regions Bank for your financial wizardry.

Daniel Mrgan for donating art supplies!

Leaves of Grass for keeping our lawn nice and tidy, and sharing donations for our Yard Sale Fundraiser!

All the artists who donated to our Nasty Women Art Show, and Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida for accepting our donation and attending our event.

Karli Schneider for feeding us with your home-cooked vegan skills.

Tyler Gillespie from Salon.com for your interest in the goodness of Florida, and featuring us in your reporting.

All our new members for joining us in 2018!

And to all our of generous donors who gave with your funds and time, and to our many friends and followers who showed up this year: you are the resistance. You are magic. We honor you!
